Eating disorders: A preliminary research

Sitting idle one day, I decided to check if it was possible to identify eating disorders. I am trained in finance, so I honestly do not know how many sub-classifications this term ("Eating disorder") has, and how many of these sub-classifications and genuine and how many 'manufactured'.

The second problem I faced was getting birth data on people with eating disorders. So I trawled the astrodatabank to get data on Anorexia and Bulimia (the only two disorders I know of from Hollywood gossip haha).

Because I  am unsure of their birth times I am forced to rely only on planet arrangements and Nadi significators to arrive at my conclusions.

Before cluttering this space with chart data, allow me to pen down my inferences. I would be obliged if my readers (over 100 a day), can test this on their own charts if they are indeed afflicted with any eating disorder. If they can send me accurate  birth times for themselves or anyone they know with eating disorders, I can create a database at my end for further study. Feel free to let me know of any other patters that you may have noticed! If the birth time is accurate then I can even go into the cuspal sublord levels to check. Rest assured identities will not be revealed.

Would it not be amazing if what is happening with an individual can be identified this way? Or even to figure out if one's loved one has this tendency, would it not enable parents to keep an eye on what is happening?

Please write to me at bhairaviuvacha@gmail.com with the subject "Eating disorder: <specify type of disorder>. I will need birth place (city), birth time and birth date.

Conclusions:

1) Saturn OR Uranus either in the 10th cusp OR aspecting the 10th cusp OR aspecting the 10th lord OR conjunct with the 10th lord OR conjunct with the 10th cusp

Remember Saturn has 3 aspects - it looks at the 3rd, 7th and 10th sign from the sign it is posited in. Uranus has just the 7th aspect

Conjunction is sign level, ie. not in degrees

I found Saturn in more cases than Uranus for the above conditions

2) Ne-Ju or Ur-JU or Ne-Ve or Ur-Ve or Ju-Ve conjunction or aspect (not necessarily mutual aspect) also noticed in eating disorder cases.

Notably, both above conditions should be satisfied.

Now let us  examine some of the cases:

CASE 1:

1

CASE 2:

1) Saturn aspects 10th cusp by its 10th aspect, and even Uranus is present in the 10th cusp

2) Uranus and Jupiter has mutual aspect

1)  Saturn aspects 10th cusp by its 10th aspect, and even Uranus is present in the 10th cusp

2) Venus and Neptune are conjunct in Virgo. Notably, Ju also aspects Uranus by its 5th aspect.

CASE 3:

1) Saturn aspects 10th cusp by its 3rd aspect. Uranus aspects 10th cusp by its 7th aspect

2) Venus and Uranus conjunct, Jupiter and Neptune also conjunct

CASE 4:

1) Saturn aspects 10th cusp by its 10th aspect

2) Neptune is conjunct with Venus in Scorpio. Notably, Jupiter aspects Uranus by its 9th aspect

CASE 5:

1) Saturn aspects 10th lord (Jup) by its 7th aspect. Uranus aspects 10th cusp by its 7th aspect.

2) Uranus and Venus are conjunct in Virgo

CASE 6:

1) Saturn aspects 10th by its 3rd apect

2) Venus conjunct with Neptune in Scorpio

CASE 7:

1) Uranus in rapt conjunction with the 10th cusp in Libra

2) Jupiter and Venus conjunct in Aquarius

CASE 8:

1) Uranus inside the 10th cusp, Saturn conjunct with the 10th lord (Sun) in Pisces

2) Neptune and Venus mutual aspects (7th)

CASE 9:

1) Saturn is the 10th lord and also aspects the 10th cusp by its 7th aspect

2) Jupiter and Venus conjunct in Capricorn

CASE 10:

1) Saturn is the 10th lord and also aspects the 10th cusp by its 7th aspect

2) Jupiter and Venus conjunct in Leo

CASE 11:

1) Saturn conjunct with the 10th cusp, Uranus inside the 10th cusp

2) Jupiter and Venus conjunct in Pisces

Nadi Vs. KP: Marriage quality

Another post in the series of how looking at just planet level significations offer only a one dimensional view. First have a look at the chart and the Nadi significators below:

Since a pure nadi practitioner completely ignores cuspal sublord, how will be interpret this person's marriage?

Ketu has full combination of marriage, overall very positive.
Venus has full combination of marriage, so positive.
Sun has 2 11, 5 11, 2 11 and a single 6. So very positive for marriage.
Moon has 1 6 10, but countered by a much stronger full combo of 2 7 11.
Mars hsa 2 7 11, TWICE! Super strong for marriage.
Rahu has 2 7 11, strong for marriage.
Jupiter is also positive for marriage, esp under the Nadi 'points' system.
Saturn is also very strong for marriage.
Mercury is also very strong for marriage with the full 2 7 11 combo at the strongest level.

So a Nadi practitioner would say that this the the chart of a real life example of a 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun' couple, always lovey-dovey etc.

Now the reality. The husband and wife have extremely strained relations. There are weeks when the couple do not speak to each other at all, not a single word. Fights are frequent and the the couple now lives separate for large periods of time.

How will a 'pure' Nadi practitioner explain it? By saying
1) The birth time is wrong OR
2) This is one of those 20% charts we do not understand. (That number is actually 50%)

But see how beautifully K.P. explains it. Not due to any reason other than the fact that it takes a look at the cuspal sublords:

The prime cusp for marriage is the 7th. The 7th CSL is Jupiter. Jupiter is in Purvaphalguni, which is a nakshatra owned by Venus. So the significations are as follows:

Ju 11, 3 6; Ve 8, 1 3

So Jupiter is signifying a pro marriage house 11 at the planet level. But it signifies a negative marriage house '1' at the powerful star level. It also signifies the 8th house of disappointments, delays, insults at the star level. Using Nadi method of combinations we can see that the combination of 1 6 8 is being more strongly signified by the 7th cuspal sublord than the marriage positive 11th cusp.

Nadi practitioners will point out that the sublord of Jupiter, ie Sun is signifying 2 11, so the planet is marriage positive. But reality is something different!

Like KP says the sublord and its starlord only divert the results of the planet and star lord. So the results of  1 3 6 8 11 will be only diverted by Sun and its starlord Saturn. Sun cannot ADD to the houses.

Let me demonstrate this in this example itself. What does 7th CSL signify apart from wife? It signifies a business. The native is a business man. So by its 11th signification the 7th CSL is saying native will gain. But gain from what? That answer is from Sun-Sat.

The significations of Sun-Sat are: 2 4 5 11

So  the native will gain from one of these house. In reality the native is in a construction business so the combination of 4 11 is being made.

Native has some interest in an sort of 'entertainment park', that is where the combination of 5 11 might come in.

The combination of of 8 11 means the native must be making money that is unearned? i.e. either from his inlaws or maybe making money in 'black'. Because when the malefic 8th house gives also, there is a sting attached to the gains.

3 5 11 means that the native is close to his siblings, which is also the case.

2 11 means that the native will stay with his family, which is also the case. Perhaps this is the reason why actual divorce has not happened. Otherwise the combination necessary for divorce is there, ie. 7th CSL is connected to Me or Ju (is Ju itself) and signifies the 3rd house.

But 7th CSL is not signifying the a good marriage, but an inimical one. In fact not just marriage, even business partnerships are not good for the person. As KP rule is clear, if 7th CSL is signifying 5 or 11, then the native gets a partner. But if the 7th CSL signifies either 6 or 12 then the partnership does not last. If the 7th CSL signifies 5, 8 or 12 then partnerships are not recommended for the native. So this is all being observed in real life.

This is why, while Nadi provides a great platform to make quick judgements in cases, especially prashna, its policy of completely ignoring the cuspal sublords is incredibly wrong. Both KP and Nadi have its own strengths and it makes sense for a student to learn both and not get caught in his own hubris.

The idea of jyotisha is to help a native. Remember, most of those who approach an astrologer are those who have exhausted all other options. It is the astrologers job, nay duty, to guide them to the best of his abilities. Whether he uses parashari, or Nadi or KP or even just verbal counselling, he/ she should not forget his prime duty. Sadly many cases are such that we may have to counsel them to accept their fate, such as it is, but be honest about it.

Imagine if this native had come to me and I had counselled him you have a great marriage! What a cruel joke it would have been on him. Not only would he have hated me, but would have also hated the science of Jyotisha. It is looking at the cuspal sublord that saved me and this science from this embarrassment.

KP Vs. Nadi: Will husband get a raise?

The chart and Nadi sigs are as follows: (note that the chart has been rotated from the 7th cusp as the question pertains to a husband but is asked by the wife)

The combination for getting a raise or a promotion is 2 6 10 11 while 5 8 12/ 6 8 12 will oppose.

The first thing I notice is that the chart is peppered with 5 8 12s. Thankfully there was enough 10 11s along with 5 8 12s as well, which means that the 'good houses' will beat the 'bad ones', albeit by a narrow maring.

This tells me that the native is facing massive opposition at work, and it is likely due to office politics. It also suggests that the hike if any is destined will be much lesser than deserved/ expected.

First let me check if any raise is denied by this chart. The prime house of getting money is the 6th house and the 6th house is the 12th (house of loss) to the 7th (opposite party). The 6th CSL is Saturn, Saturn is retrograde and it is also posited in the star owned by a retrograde Mercury. Ordinarily this would mean that the raise is denied outright.

But since there is another planet (Mars) that is posited in a retrograde star, then as advised by Shri Shahasane I will not rigidly follow the rule of retrogrades and not say that the promotion is denied on this count.

6th CSL Saturn is owns 10 and 11 and its star lord owns the 6th cusp, so the raise is not denied. However as Saturn is retrograde it will not come through till at least it becomes direct.

Now let us analyse the DBA. The Dasha is of Mars. Mars is signifying the houses 10, 11 at its star level.  So Mars is signifying the relevant houses. But to check if the event will happen in this Dasha we will need to check the Sub of Mars, which is Moon. Its significators are:

Moon: 3, 4; Mars 1, 8

Shahasane ji has espoused a simple rule on Page 350 of his book Phaladesh Khanda. He says even if the Dasha lord may signify houses relevant to the event, unless the sublord of the Dasha lord also signifies one atleast of the relevant houses, the event does not happen.

In this case the sublord of the Dasha lord is not supporting the dasha lord in giving the result and as such, I believe this pay hike will NOT come through. In fact readers will note the 8 signification suggesting a disappointment in the matters at hand. So event is denied till Oct 28, 2017, and this is a effective denial to the question for the time frame the lady had in mind.

While I am on this subject, I want to highlight the fundamental difference in how Nadi views this topic. As per Nadi, as long as the sublord (they dont look at the star of the sub like in KP), does not deny the event then the event can happen. In fact even in many cases of denial, they make a weighing in of how powerfully is the event signified at the planet and star level versus denial at sub level.

This is a key difference. As per KP, a planet can signify an event only at its and its star lord's level. How that event will turn out (success or failure) is decided by the Sub. So a sub on its own cannot offer a new event altogether. Let me explain this with an example:

Plant A: 3 4
Star: 6 10
Sub 7 11

Now as per Nadi, this planet is neutral for marriage and will not deny marriage in its period. Note I have taken a stark example instead of a nuanced one to highlight the principal without straining the grey cells of any new readers :)

However KP will view this combination differently. For now, let us ignore the starlord of the sublord. KP will say that this planet offers results of houses 6 (job) and 10 (professional reputation) strongly. Due to presence of 2 11, KP will conclude that the native will gain money and gain reputation through his job. If we include the planet level signification, then KP will say, the native will publish something, or get a favourable reply (3 11) or maybe buy a car/ house (4 11) etc.

To make it clear, Nadi assumes a planet can give results at a sub level too. KP says a sub only diverts the result of the planet and its star lord.

Another point is that Nadi does not bother with retrogression of planets at all.

Now see how a funny situation emerges in this current example.

While KP has said that unless a house from the relevant house grouping for an event (2 6 10 11 in this case) is signified by the sub lord the event will not happen. But Nadi says the event can happen as the sub is not opposing it. So I am getting opposite results using 2 branches of the same system of astrology!

So lets see what the outcome is. Mars will allow the event. The Bhukti is of Venus. Venus has 2 in planet, 2 in star and a solitary 8 in the sub. As per Nadi a solitary 8 cannot do much damage. So Bhukti is also allowing the event to happen.

The Antara is Jupiter.Jupiter has 5 8 12 at the sub level which is defeated (narrowly) by the 10 11 there itself. However it also has 5 12 at the planet level. So on balance I estimate that the planet is slightly negative to neutral at best for the event. If we were to assume that Jupiter is neutral then I wish to highlight that the transit conditions are getting fulfilled as of today and will remain so till 3rd of June 2016. So raise can come anytime.

But I estimate that the antara of Jupiter is negative, then I look at the next one, which is of Saturn. Saturn has 6 at the star level and 8 at planet. It also has 10 11 but that is at planet level, so it is signified at a lesser level, but then again it has a favorable 2 at the sub level, so overall the planet is positive.

So it can happen between June 22, 2016 to Aug 28, 2016. I am not going through the transit calculations as this was to illustrate the point of difference.

So the two alternative predictions are:

Nadi: between June 22, 2016 to Aug 28, 2016

KP: After Oct 28, 2017 (so effectively raise is denied)

This is not a cop-out, but only a reminder that astrology is not as simple as memorising formula and assigning values. There is a lot of perception, calculation, perspiration and maybe intuition involved.

#PoliticsPost The Catch 22 of Uddhav Thackeray

At the outset let me point out that I have the utmost respect for Shri Balasaheb Thackery and the organization he founded. This article is only an arm’s length examination of the real politk that goes on around us, especially in the context of the phenomenon that is Narendra Damodardas Modi.

The 2014 Maharashtra polls have relegated the Shiv Sena to secondary status within the NDA alliance, that too in its flagship state. From being a junior partner of the alliance, BJP overtook the Sena in 2009 in number of seats won despite having contested on far fewer seats. In fact, the ‘hit rate’ for BJP has consistently been higher than that of the Sena in Maharashtra. In 2014, despite contesting against the Sena in most seats, BJP won nearly twice the number of seats won by its erstwhile ‘senior’ partner. The table below clearly explains the decline of the Sena:

As BJP increasingly drives the political agenda in the country, it is not impossible to believe that a regional satrap like the Sena fears its political relevance going forward. It is this worry that is driving the Sena’s inimical behavior with its alliance partner.

Sena knows that the CM Devendra Fadnavis has strong support from the Prime Minister and has been doing good work. A good monsoon this year will cement the position of the BJP in the state and going to polls in 2019 against this background will be very difficult for the Sena.

One of Sena’s options is to pull out of the alliance, but this has practical difficulties. Sena has been given 10 ministerial portfolios in the state cabinet. After 15 long years of sitting in opposition, this opportunity has presented itself. It is unlikely that the ministers would quit this to go back and sit in opposition again. Sena might be facing a split if ministers are pulled out at this point, especially with them knowing that BJP is getting entrenched in the state. The drama in 2014 of recalling Anant Geete only to relent later is not forgotten by those following politics closely.

One reason why ministers will be willing to pull out is if there is a viable chance of Shiv Sena partnering with Congress and NCP to form its own government. With 146 MLAs between them, this alliance may just work. In fact SS will become the senior partner here, making it prima facie an attractive proposition for the Sena Chief. Congress, which is getting battered at both the state and central level, will more than welcome this move. Not only would it help them protect their Rajya Sabha strength but it would also be a great PR exercise to divert attention from the various scams it finds itself in. Not to mention getting control of a cash rich state and being able to hit back at the BJP.

So why are the Sena and Congress not pursuing this path? The Bookkeeper believes the answer lies in the enigma known as Sharad Pawar. Remember this is the same leader who had suo motu offered outside support to the BJP government after the Assembly results. Pawar is now 75 year old, and will be nearly 80 by the time the next elections roll around. It is likely that at his point he is more worried about safeguarding his legacy in the form of his daughter instead of entering into a new battle with Narendra Modi. The Bookkeeper will not be surprised if Pawar ‘engineers a split’ in his own party allowing a faction to support the BJP government in Maharashtra if the Sena pulls out (assuming he doesn’t order NCP to support the BJP en masse). The   Bookkeeper believes that ultimately Pawar would want his daughter to join the BJP and may even be willing to allow the government to proceed with corruption investigations against some other members of his party in return. Even if BJP does not accept his daughter within its fold, some form of compromise on her between Pawar and Modi cannot be ruled out. But that is a story for another day.

So coming back to the question at hand, continuing in this alliance would be the proverbial ‘death by a thousand cuts’ for the Sena. This cannot be the preferred option, certainly! So what is the alternative?!

A remote possibility is that BJP itself asks Sena to leave the alliance. In this case the Sena ministers will have no alternative but to resign from their posts and would not be able to hold Uddhav responsible for their situation, at least publicly. This seems to be one of the reason why the Sena sustains a campaign of opposing BJP on most issues, whether it is the Kasuri reception, or Kanhaiyas speeches. But this is a delicate game as they cannot take any action that would make a parting of the ways squarely the responsibility of the Sena.

The other option for the Sena is that it breaks the alliance but has something equally lucrative to offer to its ministers who are currently in the cabinet. The only thing that seems to fit the bill is the Mumbai civic polls slated for 2017. Mumbai municipality is a prestigious poll and with a budget of Rs30-35,000 crore Rupees is the size of a small state. Interestingly this is also the arena were Shiv Sena has the lead on BJP. In fact in the last polls held (2012), Shiv Sena won 75 seats versus the 31 of BJP in Mumbai.

The common thought of political watchers is that BJP should back out of the Mumbai polls allowing Shiv Sena to continue its strong position there. This will mollify the party and will lead to a smooth running of the alliance for the balance 2 odd years at the State level. The Bookkeeper does not share this view. As explained earlier, for the Sena this is a question of its relevance itself and it cannot afford to continue in this state alliance till 2019 when it will probably be offered even fewer seats than the 135 it was offered in 2014. However, SS will back out of the alliance only in a position of strength. If Shiv Sena were to extract another strong performance in the 2017 civic polls, then it may even be prepared to sit in the opposition in the state assembly. After all it can then serve as an effective toll booth for the BJP’s development plans for Mumbai and can also take the mantle of the main opposition party at the state-level.

So BJP faces some stark choices. Either let Shiv Sena have a walkover in the Civic poll; or, BJP contests on all seats in the municipal poll and pushes the Sena to the wall on this front as well. While either choice is not exactly palatable, it is the Bookkeeper’s view that in the first case the Sena ‘will’ definitely pull out of the alliance. While in the second case, the Sena ‘may’ pull out of the alliance. Simply put, it is easier to deal with a weaker opponent than a stronger one. This of course pre supposes that the BJP will do well in the Civic polls, enough to worry the Sena. Because if it does not, then the Sena will definitely quit the alliance. But then this outcome was anyway going to be the case, so the BJP doesn’t lose anything except maybe get a timely reminder to better prepare for the State polls in 2019.

BJP should recognize that Shiv Sena is facing a crisis of identity at this point. The ‘marathi manoos’ agenda has been dominated by Raj Thackeray, and it has not even worked for him. It is however possible for the Sena to revive this tactic closer to the time of the civic polls. While this will certainly alienate the north Indian voter living in Mumbai, the Sena does not lose much from this demographic. What can happen is that a north Indian who could have voted for the BJP may be encouraged to vote for someone else due to the belligerent behaviour of BJP's partner. Even the marathi votes to BJP may be split on this account as BJP is unlikely to toe this regional line. This in fact corroborates the need for BJP to fight the civic polls separately from the Sena. Assuming the Sena does pursue this path of regional identity politics, the Bookkeeper does not see it benefiting them much unless they bring the other stakeholder in such politics (Raj Thackeray) on board with them.

It is the Bookkeeper’s suspicion that Sena's tentative plan in the meanwhile is to go with a ‘youngistan’ image with Aditya Thackray as the icon. This can be gleaned from the fact that one of Aditya’s most known campaigns has been the extension of night life timings in Mumbai. This coming from the same party that opposed western culture! In reality, the only effective counter to BJP by the Sena would be to grasp the hardcore Hindutva issue and dare BJP to do the same, straining its core voter base. But like one suspects, the current mood of the Party seems to be establishing the young scion and thus is unlikely to do the counter-intuitive.

When will I get the inheritance?

Chart and significators are as follows:

8 11 needed for getting inheritance. Four planets: Me, Mo, Sa, Ve are signifying 8 11. Notably most planets are signifying 6 12/ 6 8 12 as well suggesting that the final amount will be lower than what the native is currently expecting.

Looking at transit conditions, it appears that the Native will get it only in Me-Sa-Me, during the period of March-April 2018 at the latest.

I have been suddenly bed ridden for the past two days, when will I recover?

This was a Q passed on to me by an astrology student to whom it was asked. It is worth noting that the native asking the Q has not said what the problem is, only that he is very ill.

The chart and significators are as follows:

The prime house of illness is the 6th. The 6th CSL is Saturn. Saturn is posited in the star of Mercury. Saturn is in the 2nd cusp in Scorpio and Mercury is in the 7th cusp in Aries. Both Scorpio and Aries are signs owned by Mars.

Due to the toughness associated with Saturn, Saturn is considered to govern bones in the human body. Mercury is the messenger and thus considered to be in charge of nerves as nerves are the messaging centers in our body.

Putting bone and nerves together, the first thing that came in mind is the backbone or spinal cord. I estimated that the native has some problem with his backbone. As Saturn is posited in Mercury it suggests that there may be multiple problems, i.e. in multiple places or multiple vertebrae. The presence of Mercury also suggests that the doctor must be careful in his diagnosis, maybe seek a colleagues opinion.  Given that Mars is closely associated with both 6th CSL and 6th CSL's star, there may be an issue with muscles as well.

Saturn is posited in Scorpio. Scorpio sign governs the lower back, reproductive organs region etc. But it is also in the 2nd house which is closer to the neck region.

Mercury is posited in Aries which is the head region but in the 7th house which is again lower back, closer to reproductive organs.

Notably, Saturn strongly signifies (at starlord level) the houses 7 9 12, while Mercury signifies 7 11. The common house here is 7th. So I decided to go with lower back as the diagnosis.

Now what about recovery, is it possible? For that the 6th CSL must signify either of 1/5/11 cusps. Saturn is signifying the 5th cusp through its ownership. So recovery is possible.

When? Full recovery happens in a Dasha that signifies BOTH 5 and 11, AND a Bhukti that signifies BOTH 5 and 11. If only one is signified then only temporary relief is possible.

Current Dasha and Bhukti lord is Mercury. Mercury is signifying only 11, so relief is possible in this Dasha, but complete cure is not. There may be occasional recurrences of this illness from time to time.

5th cusp is the prime house of cure. The 5th CSL is Venus, so homeopathy may help. Venus is in the star of Jupiter so yoga will definitely help a lot. Venus is also signifying the 8th house suggesting that some surgical intervention may be needed as well.

The current Antara is of Sun which is signifying the 8th house, suggesting that the native is currently in intense pain. Sun Antara will go on till 12th May after which Moon starts. Moon does not have 8 and then the pain will lessen. Moon also has 12th cusp represented, so the Native may be shifted to a hospital.

Interestingly, as I compose this note I received a message from the student saying that the native has confirmed his problem and indeed it is in his back. The exact issue is the L6 joint, so lower back! As predicted!!

So for location, should one look at sign in which the 6th CSL is posited and the house in which the 6th CSL's star is posited? A point worth keeping in mind and testing going forward.

Just to give the readers a better perspective, I took a spinal diagram off a net search (I do not own this pic) to show just where exactly the L6 lies:

Another point worth testing is that both Saturn and Mercury were both at 22-22 degrees of their respective signs, suggesting that the issue was in 'lower' region, but not the 'lowest' region? I dont know, but will keep this in mind when a similar Q comes up next.

P:S: As far as the suddenness of the illness is concerned the only explanation I can see is that DB lord being aspected by Rahu's 9th drusthi almost to the degree.

Another delayed marriage

Here are the natal chart and significators:

The exact query that was asked of me was when will this girl get married and how will the married life be?

The first thing I noticed on hearing the Q was that Saturn was in Libra, and had missed being inside the 5th cusp by just a few degrees. This meant that Saturn aspected by its 3rd drushti the 7th house, by its 7th drusthi the 11th house and by its 10th drushti the 2nd house.

So all the cusps that are responsible for the marriage getting fixed and running smoothly are in the 'sight' of Saturn. Now look at Saturn in the above Nadi significators. At planet level, it is somewhat neutral. At star level it is quite negative (1 6 12) and only a solitary 11. At the sub level again it is quite bad for marriage with a 1 12 signification. In fact if the planet level is included that we can see a full combination of 1 6 8 12 is there which suggests separation from spouse. This separation may be mental due to fights and bickering or physical, again due to bickering or due to one of the spouse's jobs keeping both apart regularly for long periods of time (preferred to fighting in my view). So marriage life is not going to be smooth, that is clear. Saturn is also the planet for delays and is perhaps the reason that the girl's marriage has also been delayed. This native is of 1984 birth and is already around 32 years of age, considered on the late age side for marriage to happen, especially for a girl.

Currently native is in Jupiter's Dasha. While Jupiter signifies 6 10 marriage negative houses, it also signifies 7 11 which are marriage positive houses. So marriage is possible. Jupiter is in the sub of Mercury. Mercury is posited in marriage positive 2nd cusp and thus marriage is not denied in this Dasha.

The ongoing Bhukti is of Mercury. While Mercury does signify the 2nd cusp through its own occupation, it is in the Sub of Venus. Venus is posited in 1st, owns 5th and 12th. Venus is in Saturn's star which is in 4th, and owns 8th and 9th cusps. So not only does Mercury's sub not have a marriage positive house (2/7/11), it has marriage negative houses (1). So in my view, marriage is unlikely to be fixed in the current Bhukti, though its possible it may come close to getting fixed. This Bhukti will go on till March 12 2018. It must be remembered that since Jupiter is neutral to positive for marriage, we need a very strong Bhukti for marriage to happen.

Then Ketu Bhukti starts. As we can see from above Nadi significators table, Ketu is a strong planet to offer marriage. But within this period, what Antara do I select? For this purpose I looked to the Ruling Planets at the time of examining this horoscope for guidance. At 11:38AM on 2nd May, the RPs were as follows:
Asc Star: Sa
Asc Sign Mo
Moon St: Ra
Moon Sn:Sa
Day: Mo

Saturn is in the star of a retro planet and thus is ignored. That leaves us with Moon and Rahu. So two time frames emerge:

Ju-Ke-Mo (14 June 2018 to 12 July 2018) and
Ju-Ke-Ra (1 Aug 2018 to 21 Sept 2018)

So while the chart is weak for marriage and marriage will require both parties to work hard at it, marriage fixing is 'possible' in 2018 between June to September. I did not do the transits.
