Iran nuclear agreement

I read on a news site this morning that the Iran agreement deadline has been fixed for July 7, 2015. This is a long awaited agreement that would achieve the goal of some world powers of preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Anyway, I was curious which way the balance would tilt come July 7, and asked: Will the Iran agreement be signed in July 2015. The seed I gave is 189.

The chart and significators are below:

As per KP, since 3rd cusp denotes agreements, if the 3rd cusp sublord is a significator of 3 or 11 the agreement will be a success. In this case, the 3rd CSL is Venus. Venus is not in the star of a retrograde planet. But. Venus is signifying neither 3 nor 11. Thus KP indicates that the agreement will not be signed.

Interestingly Venus is the sublord of not only the 3rd cusp  but also the 9th cusp (which is the 3rd cusp for the opposite party). As such the agreement will be not signed due to objections from both sides is what I feel.

As per Nadi, the ongoing DBA is KE-VE-ME.

Ketu is signifying 3 11 of some strength. The 3 is in the planet while 11 is at sub level. This is positive for agreement.

Venus is however signifying 3 and 12 in the sub and 6 in the nakshatra. This is negative for the agreement.

Mercury is does not have any positive or negative combination for the agreement, per se.

However, Venus is the 3rd cusp as well as 11th cusp sublord and since it signifies the 3 6 12 combination the DBA lords cannot offer a positive result despite being 50-50.

The agreement with Iran will fall through, and will not be signed. Atleast in the month of July 2015.

Change in job

A friend asked me whether any change in job was slated for her. The below is the chart and significators followed by my analysis:

The cusp combination that promotes a change in job is 5 9. The 5th house is 12th from the 6th (prime house of employment) signifying a break from work. Similarly, the 9th is 12th from 10th which suggests leaving present status. The native also needs a separative planet (Sun/Saturn/Rahu/Ketu) as one of the DBA planets. The native is currently running the dasha of Saturn.

A cursory glance will tell us that the native has quite a few 5 9s in ther chart. The following planets show the job change combination:

Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu

Only three planets: Saturn, Venus and Sun do not show the full combination but support change by signifying 9.

True to what the chart says, this person has changed jobs 6 times in the last 10 years or so, and is now looking for number 7. Its amazing how accurate the art is.

Anyway, native is in Dasha of Saturn, which supports change. The Bhukti is of Mercury which signifies 5 9  at star level, strongly suggesting job change and Antara is of Jupiter which is also signifying 5 9 at planet level.

The event (ie change in job) will fructify during favourable transits. The transit rules are as follows:

Nadi transit rules:

Any three of the planets which signify the relevant houses (may or may not be the same as DBA), should either:

1) Conjoin in one house OR

2) mutually aspect each other OR

3) transit the significator houses OR

4) aspect the significator houses OR

5) transit over their natal positions (one planet signifying event may transit its own natal position or even another planets natal position if that planet is also signifying the event)

To further pinpoint, the event will take place on the day when:

a) A transiting planet signifying the relevant houses should transit exactly over the natal degree of
any planet that also signifies the event OR

b) two planets signifying the event are less than 1 degree apart in a sign OR

c) any planet signifying the event transits exactly over the cuspal degree of the relevant house in the transit chart OR

d) Moon conjoins with any three planets that also signifying the event in a sign. This condition can only be applied If Moon is a signifying planet, not otherwise. OR

e) The Antara lord is transiting in a nakshatra/star/constellation of a planet that signifies the event

On 21st July 2015, transit Mercury is transiting over the natal Mercury, transit Jupiter is transiting over the natal Jupiter and transit Rahu is transiting over natal Mars. In fact the transit Mercury is conjunct with natal Mercury within one degree on this date. This satisfies the condition 5-a.

The period conducive for job change continues till end of September 2015 and then a couple weeks. This period comes under the antara of Jupiter (which is conjunct with separative Saturn in the natal chart) and under the Antara of Saturn.

Another sensitive point is August 5-7, 2015 when Mars 8th aspects 5th house an Mercury and Jupiter 7th aspect the 5th house. The Antara lord Jupiter is in star owned by favourable Ketu.

There may be more sensitive points, but it is clear that in the 2-2.5 months starting July 21, 2015, the native will most definitely shift jobs.

Will I pass the exam?

Someone close to me appeared for an exam today for a certification she needed. The question asked was the same as the title of the post and the number given was 89. Chart cast is as follows:

The ongoing DBA is MO-VE-JU.

Moon is in Moon star and Venus Sub. Moon thus signifies, 2, 12; 2, 12; 12, 10, 3

Venus is in Mercury star and Mars Sub. Venus thus signifies, 12, 10, 3; 2, 10, 11; 11, 9, 4

Jupiter is in Mercury star and Jupiter Sub. It thus signifies, 12, 8, 5; 2, 10, 11; 5, 8, 12

Mo is signifying 3, 10 and 2 which are positive houses for education. Venus is even more positive by signifying 2,3,4,9,10,11 while Mercury signifies 2 10 11 and also negative 5 8 12.

If this was a competitive exam where only a few could pass, this would have not been an ideal combination. As there are no limits (to my knowledge) as to how many students can get through, this should be enough to pass. However, 8 12 suggests that there may be difficulties, I do not foresee this student failing. Best of luck!

When will I get married - Horary based.

Talked to someone last night who despite a slightly advanced age (by Indian standards) was not able to get married. He gave me his birth horoscope, but I was not sure about its authenticity due to the following reasons:
1) One of the conditions stipulated by Shri Andrew Dutta in his 'Rule of Origin' method was not being met, and
2) Though the native is a successful medical professional, majority of the planets did not signify the intelligence combinations of 4 9 11 or 4 11 or 5 11.

Since the question was specific "When will I get married?", I decided to go  the horary way and asked him to give me a number between 1 and 249. He whatsapped: 27.

The chart and significators are as follows:

Houses favouring marriage: 2 7 11
Houses opposing marriage: 1 6 10

Planets favouring marriage: Ma, Su, Ju, Ve, Ra
Planets opposing marriage: Sa, Ke, Me, Mo

The cuspal sublord of the 7th house (prime house of marriage) is Mercury. Me signifies 1 at planet level and 6 10 in the sub level. It also signifies 2 at planet level and 11 at sub level. Since it does indicate some of the favourable houses, the native does have a chance to get married.

The ongoing Dasha is of Moon. Moon quite emphatically denies marriage by the 6 10 at the sub level. So marriage cannot happen in this dasha. Mo Dasha ends on November 9, 2019.

The next Dasha is of Mars. Ma is supporting marriage through the 2 7 signified at both the planet and star level and supporting house of 5 at the sub level. Marriage is possible here. The first Bhukti is also of Mars as if the first Antara within this Bhukti.

Since one planet cannot offer much, we have to look for the Antara of a different planet. The next Antara is of Rahu, after that is Jupiter. We can ignore the transits of Sa, Ke, Me and Mo as these planets are negating marriage more forcefully than allowing it.

We are now looking at Antara's where the transit conditions are satisfied. The two sets of transit conditions are:

Any three planets, whether or not from the DBA, that allow the event should:
1) occupy the relevant houses ( 2 or 7 or 11) OR
2) aspect the relevant houses OR
3) aspect each other OR
4) conjoin in one house OR
5) transit over their natal positions

AND to further pinpoint the event:
a) a transiting planet signifying event transits over the natal degree of a planet signifying event OR
b) two planets signifying event conjoin in one sign within a degree OR
c) any planet signifying event passes over cuspal degree of relevant houses OR
d) Moon conjoins 3 planets signifying event * OR
e) the antar lord in in a star owned by a favourable planet for the event

*Moon should be a signifying house too. In this case it is not, so we can ignore this condition.

The above conditions are satisfied during:

1) February 23, 2020 to March 21, 2020: Mars and Jupiter occupy VII AND Venus in XI
    - March 12: Antara lord Venus goes into a favourable Star (ie star owned by Venus)
    - March 20: Jupiter and Mars are less than 1 degree apart
    - March 21: Transit Rahu is less than 1 degree away from Natal Sun

AND

2) June 19, 2020 to July 1, 2020: Mars 8th As. -> II, Ra 5th As. -> II, Ju 7th As. -> XI
    - 20/21 June: Sun less than 1 degree from Rahu
    - 24th June: Transit Sun less than 1 degree from natal Sun

So I guess marriage is some ways out for the native. But it is on the cards. Hope God gives him, whatever is best for him!

Agony aunt

I got a call from a lady who had a marriage query on behalf of her nephew. Her nephew has been divorced once and recently negotiations for another proposal broke down inexplicably after the girl called it off, out of the blue.

The birth chart and significators is as follows:

The houses that promote marriage are 2, 7, 11 and the houses that oppose are 1, 6, 10.  Now let us evaluate the strength of the planets on this basis.

Right off the bat, we can see that Mars which signifies 6 through occupation and 1,6 through sign ownership occupies a somewhat important position in the horoscope. It acts as a marriage 'deny-er' at a nakshatra level for Mercury, Saturn and Ketu. So while these 'grahas' allow marriage at the planet and the sub level, they are weak in offering the event, thanks to the denial at the nakshatra level.

Jupiter and Mars, outright deny marriage. Lets look at the one by one:

Mars signifies 1,6 at planet level, a weak ancillary house 9 at star level and again denial at sub level.

Jupiter signifies positive house 2 and ancillary house 5 at the planet level. However, there is denial houses 1 6 at the star level and no meaningful support  from the sublord Moon.

So the most powerful planets for marriage are: Rahu, Moon, Sun, Venus (in descending order of strength). These are followed by Mercury, Saturn and Ketu, who don't deny and are but weak positives.

The native was running his Venus Dasha at birth, followed by the Sun's Dasha which ended on April 10, 1998. The native would be around 24 years of age then. Had he gotten married at that time, he would not only have benefited from the Sub's Dasha but also from Moon's dasha for the next ten years which is very powerful for supporting marriage. However, the native was not married then.

While I do not have the details of the native's first marriage, I am guessing it would have been in the Moon's dasha thanks to its strength and the separation/ divorce would have happened sometime in the Mars Dasha which commenced on April 10, 2008 and lasted till April 10, 2015. I have asked the native to give me the dates and will cross-verify with this timeline.

Anyway, the native' frustration at not getting his life partner is understandable, because he has not consulted with a stellar astrologer before this. Mars does not offer marriage at all. So he was not destined to get married for the last seven years. While this is little consolation to someone who has been waiting fruitlessly for a companion, it is better than learning that marriage is not possible at all, isn't it? In fact, I say to him, that you have given your best performance at work, but the bonus will be given on the decided date, the company (and indeed the galaxy) is not going to rearrange its schedule just so you get yours before time. But the bonus is promised, take heart in that.

The native is currently running Rahu's Dasha, Bhukti and Antara. Rahu is the most powerful planet in his horoscope to offer marriage and thus he should be in a good time. However, he may not be experiencing it as such as the girl he was courting has just said no. There is a very straightforward explanation to that. One planet cannot offer anything. There have to be atleast two planets to offer and event. Since Rahu is the only planet in the DBA, it is not furtiful. In fact this is known as 'Chidra dasha' which implies that no important event takes place in this period.

So what should the native do? Wait it out! The Rahu antara ends on September 5, 2015. There after Jupiter starts. As we have seen earlier, Jupiter is one of two planets that is outright denying marriage, hence we have to let this Antara go. Jupiter will end on January 15, 2016. After this, Saturn Dasha starts and will go on till June 19, 2016. Saturn is a weak significator of marriage. but with a powerful Rahu as the Dasha and Bhukti lord, I have little doubt that he will meet his life partner in this period. We can try and look at transits to figure out when:

On March 7, 2016 3 planets signifying the event Ketu, Sun and Mercury conjoin in the 10th house Aquarius sign. In fact on this date, the transit Sun is conjunct with the natal sun satisfying the subtle conditions of timing of event. The three planets conjunct condition continues till 18-19th March.

So, my prediction is that his marriage will be decided between March 1, 2016 to March 19, 2016 (special emphasis on 7th to 11th of March).

Career quest!

An acquaintance of mine got in touch with me the other day for an astrological consultation. He is an independent businessman in the IT industry for the last two years approximately. He has tried various partnerships etc but nothing seems to 'click'. There are of course the related worries and financial issues.

Before we discuss his case, let me put the chart here and the Nadi significators. As I said earlier that I will not be using the KPStarOne software due to its calculation mistakes. So I have generated the chart from another free astrology software and computed the significations manually. Its been sometime since I have done that, so please feel free to point out any errors you may notice. I am afraid this is how its going to be till I can afford a paid software.

We see good education combinations in Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu, so 6 out of 9 planets. However, in Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Ketu, we also see the 3 6 8 combination that suggests the native was not interested in formal studies.

Now I know that the native has an engineering degree, but I feel that he was not one of the toppers in his class. He may have ducked a few subjects at some point (though not a year) and usually left studies to the end. Given the prevalence of '8', it is supportive of the reality that he did engineering.

Coming to his career, the combinations 2 6 10 11 is good for service and 2 7 10 11 is good for business. The combination of 5 8 12 is worst for career (whether service or business) followed by 6 8 12. The combination of 5 8 or 6 8 or 8 12 are also bad and no positive prediction can be made unless they are countered by 10 11.

Lets now look at each planet individually:

Sun has no positive or negative significations, one can say it is neutral to career. We can even call it slightly positive given 7 and 10 are signified.

Moon has 10 11 but also 5 8 and 6 8 of equal strength. So while the negative signification has been countered, Moon will not give rewards to the native in proportion the efforts put in.

Mars signified 6 8 but the 10 11 is of much higher strength and will help the native further his career.

Mercury is like Sun, slightly positive to neutral.

Jupiter is like Moon, 10 11 counters 5 8, so native will gain, just not in the same proportion of the work he puts in.

Venus, is neutral.

Saturn is a very positive planet for the career. Has 6 10 in planet, supported by 7 in star and 2 6 7 11 in the sub. No negative combinations exist.

Rahu is also very positive, slightly less than Saturn since positive combinations are in planet instead of star or sub.

Ketu is like Jupiter and Moon. Slightly positive.

So to sum up, Saturn is the most positive planet, followed by Rahu and then by Mars. Moon, Jupiter, Venus, Ketu, Mercury and Sun are neutral to positive.

As one can easily notice, the native has 7th cusp signified in every planet. So its ok for him to be in business. He has 6th cusp signified with it in many cases, which not only hints at the job he held earlier, but also that his business will be service providing in nature (Thank you RP for that insight).

Now the native has been seeing some tough times so far, since his business started. Let us see that astrologically.

Native was in Moon dasha till Jan 16, 2015. Within this dasha, the last two bhuktis were for Venus and Sun. So MO-VE and MO-SU were operational when his business started. MO and VE are both neutral to career. So at the beginning he may not have felt too discomforted. Venus Bhukti ended on 17th July 2014 and Sun started. While Sun is also neutral to career on his own, combined with Moon significations, it forms a scattered 5 8 12 and 6 8 12 combination. This would have been a very tough period. There is full possibility of the native having faces disappointments, loss of business, insults etc in Sun's bhukti which ran from 18th July 2014 to 16th Jan 2015. While I will come to this later, Moon also signifies 3 6 8, which suggests that the native will be susceptible to being cheated or getting defrauded etc.

Mars is a fairly positive planet for the career. Mars dasha began on Jan 17, 2015. The first bhukti is of Mars itself. One planet cannot offer much, while I feel that Mars bhukti was better than the native's previous experiences, his better period has started just now. On 15th June 2015, Rahu bhukti has started. As seen earlier, Rahu is a positive planet for business. This will run till 1st July 2016 and will largely be a good period.

The intermittent periods of planets like Jupiter, Sun, Ketu Moon etc will cause some slowdowns, but it will not impact the 'status' of the native, which is being set by a positive Mars.

Mars Dasha will end on 15th Jan 2022. After this the even more positive dasha of Rahu will start, which will go on till Jan 2040. This will be like Mars, only just better. There will be periodic slowdowns when neutral planets bhukti's interrupt, but overall the native's career will be on a rising trajectory.

Thereafter, the dasha of Jupiter for 16 years will begin in Jan 2040. This will largely be a slow period. I have appended a table of the various dashas and bhuktis for the native at the end of this narrative.

Uranus in the 2nd house of wealth creates sudden changes. It is best that the native doesn't squander his wealth or use it in risky ventures but makes judicious investments.

Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Ketu have a 3 6 8 combination which renders the native susceptible to fraud. While no clear indications of "no partnership" are there, it is best if the native reads before signing, verifies before accepting and uses multiple sources to vet information.

The 2nd house has a malefic Rahu. While Rahu (thankfully) does not signify negative houses, his presence in the 2nd house suggests bad habits or addiction to either alcohol or cigarettes or bad food habits etc. It will be best if the native tries to control his urges in this direction to prevent loss to health.

The CM's affidavit- genuine or not?

A controversy a day seems to be the mantra with Indian media in targeting the government over the Lalit Modi issue. A new story broke out today, you can read about it here. There is little point in going over the details when the document in question (an affidavit purportedly by Vasundhara Raje helping Lalit Modi's case) is not even signed. The media is denying 'ownership' of the document due to its non-signed nature but that does not seem to stop them from outraging on the issue.

An important issue to note that I will not be using KPStarone software for charts. While it has a great interface the fact is that not enough programming rigor seems to have gone into it and it is throwing up random errors. This was brought to my notice twice by Shri Kanak Bosmia. So I will be using another software till I can accumulate enough money to buy a new software.

The rules for checking the genuineness of documents remains the same in KP. 3rd CSL is Saturn. Saturn is in its own star. This suggests that the document is not genuine
